One of Verne's old professors has died under very mysterious circumstances. His lovely daughter, Monique, asks Jules and Phileas if they would help transport the body back to the family manor. They agree, but Verne grows suspicious. All is not as it seems. Professor Marechal's notes indicate he was working on a revolutionary invention, and Verne is determined to find out the truth.

Upon arriving at the Marechal estate, they discover the Professor has constructed the Vitalisphere, a device that can return the dead to life.

They also find more trouble than they bargained for.
